Welcome to calculusgaming.com!
Hello! I’m Eldrick Chen, also known as calculus gaming. I love making educational websites (especially ones related to math), so here are some I’ve made throughout the years!
All pages are completely free and do not contain ads.
About Me
Hello! I’m Eldrick. I currently attend the University of Texas at Dallas as a data science major and I am part of the honors college program there.
Mathematics
I have been interested in math since a very young age. Even though I enjoy learning math, I find teaching math to be even more engaging. It is a very fun and rewarding challenge to try to explain complex topics in a way that anyone can understand!
Programming
I also enjoy coding and have experience in Python and JavaScript (after all, JavaScript is what I use to program my websites). I am also currently learning C++ and Java for my computer science classes.
Teaching
I have enjoyed helping my classmates for many years, but what really ignited my passion for teaching was a computer science course I took in the summer of 2022. Since I already had some experience in programming, I was able to help my classmates solve the class’s programming problems. That’s when I realized just how much I enjoyed helping people with their academics.
My teaching experiences have allowed me to appreciate math in a new way. To me, brainstorming how to effectively teach concepts is a really good way to gain a stronger understanding myself!
Educational Websites
I especially enjoy creating educational websites because I can share my knowledge with everyone else. I made my first educational website in 2020, but then rediscovered my passion for educational websites in 2023 when creating my calculus website. Ever since, I’ve been creating more educational websites and I don’t plan to stop anytime soon!
Main mathematics pages
(the “unnamed website” series)
These are my flagship pages featuring interactive tools and easy to understand explanations.
When I started working on my calculus website, I couldn’t think of a name for it, so I used “unnamed calc website” as a placeholder name. In the months following that, I still couldn’t think of a name, so it remained as unnamed calc website.
When I started my multivariable calculus website, instead of spending lots of time trying to think of a name, I decided to just continue with the “unnamed ____ website” naming scheme. That’s also what I plan to do with any future websites of this type!

Pages for my math classes
(the “surviving” series)
These are less polished notes for the math classes I have taken (or am taking) at the University of Texas at Dallas.
The name “surviving calculus” comes from my friend Deb who originally started the website. I decided to stick with this naming scheme for the sequel “surviving calculus 2”. I don’t see any reason to change this naming scheme, so expect “surviving linear algebra” to come out next semester!
